  EVENT DESCRIPTIONS

Event 1 - Non-Secular Competition
Group must perform two (2) selections with music having some
Christian or religious connotation (gospel, contemporary, & hymns).
Event 2 - Classical Competition
Group must perform two (2) traditional concert or classical vocal
arrangements.
Event 3 - Pops Competition
Group will perform two (2) with either pops or Broadway vocal
arrangements.
Soloist Competition: Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female Vocalists will receive Awards. Winner will have options for recording or performance opportunities.
Recording Options: Top group in each event will record a CD in the famed
Studio “B” with options to purchase the CD (that can be later reproduced and sold by your school as a fundraiser for the Choir.)

    The Next Top Scored Group
Writer Competition: Any student attending the “Festivals of Stars’ has an opportunity to submit either a) lyrics only or b) music and lyrics to be adjudicated by a panel of Nashville’s top music writers, publishers, and recording artist. Top winners in each category will receive an award and winning materials will be submitted to a Nashville publisher for possible publication. This is based on two sections:
     A. Lyrics
     B. Music & Lyrics
School Groups may enter 1, 2 or all 3 of the events. If your group wins more than one category it is only eligible to perform twice on the CD.

Just when you thought the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum was all the Country Music Hall of Fame had to offer, we welcome your group to the oldest surviving recording studio in Nashville. Often referred to as the "Home of a Thousand Hits," Studio B hosted over 15,000 recording sessions, producing more than 35,000 songs between 1957 and 1977, including such artists as Dolly Parton, the Everley Brothers, Roy Orbison, Jim Reeves, Willie Nelson and Elvis Presley . Groups of all sizes are always welcome to get better acquainted with one of the most important studios in American music history.
   
Star For A Day
This one day itinerary begins on Nashvilles famed Music Row with a tour of historic RCA Studio B. The tour concludes inside the actual studio where groups will work with a professional sound engineer in a 45-minute recording session. Then it's off to the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum to complete your group's experience. The package also includes the option of lunch or dinner at either the world famous Wildhorse Saloon or at the Hard Rock Café.

Stories Behind The Songs
Groups will participate in a 45-minute private session with one of Nashville's accomplished songwriters. Visitors are given insight on the craft of songwriting from concept to hit. These up close and personal sessions give your group the rare opportunity to hear recognizeable songs in their original form.

   
Making Music In Music City
Your group joins one of Music City's many accomplished writers for an hour-long session on the craft of songwriting. By offering personal insight and direction, the writer guides your group in creating an original song
Music City Showcase
Groups ranging in size from choirs and ensembles of twenty to marching bandcs of up to one hundred, the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum provides an excellent opportunity for performance groups of all levels to showcase their talents.
   
Celebrity Audio Tour
This 70-minute guided tour narrated by WSM readio personality and Gran Ole Opry announcer, Eddie Stubbs also features Vince Gill, Trisha Yearwood and Hall of Fame member Dolly Parton as they give you behind the scenes stories, insider tips and more.
